STI-XPT^TM

STI-XPT™crossings protection technology provides an advanced, cost effective warning system at railway crossings for both protected and unprotected crossings. The system is light-weight and can be installed cost effectively post-track construction.

At an STI-XPT™enabled railway crossing, as a train approaches it communicates with the intelligent VIGI-Tower™ surveillance system located at the road/crossing intersect which turns on warning flashing lights and bells. Simultaneously, lights may be located on the road approaching the crossing that would also be activated by the VIGI-Tower™ as a train approaches to give drivers additional warning that they are approaching an 'active crossing'. In addition, the locomotive engineer is also provided with an in-cabin alert should the upcoming level crossing be fouled, allowing for corrective action.

The STI-XPT™ system can be enabled to video record the approaching train and road traffic as well as record any road violators who 'run' the red lights or drive around existing flashing lights and boom gates. This could form the basis for prosecution and or used for education purposes.
